Who are we?
The League of Women Voters of Broward County (LWVBC) is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to protecting and expanding voting rights while ensuring that everyone is represented in our democracy. The LWVBC empowers voters and defends democracy through education and advocacy at the local, state, and national levels.
The Youth Power the Vote initiative within the LWVBC focuses on engaging and mobilizing young adults to participate in the democratic process by:
Encouraging young adults to exercise their right to vote.
Educating young voters about importance of civic engagement, voting and policy issues.
Fostering a sense of community through events, workshops and outreach programs.
Promoting inclusivity so all young adults are included in the democratic process.
Supporting young adult-led initiatives, including voter registration drives, candidate forums and educational campaigns.
